The first thing you need to know are what mamodos are. They are people from a different world that has special powers. They come here to do battle and decide who will be the next mamodo king or queen. they carry a special book which only the choosen person can read. No one else can read the partners book besides the partner. They need us inorder to fight with spells. Once their book is burned, it cannot be put out by anything and the mamodo is sent back to their world
Zatch bell is about the mamodos coming from their world and battling here. They need a human partner in order to read spells from their spell books inorder to cast spells and win battles. But mamodos can't continusly use a spell because if they do they will be exhausted. They have a total of 7 spells that you must unlock
